Bismarck State College recently signed articulation agreements with two colleges in Washington state for students planning to enroll in BSC's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Energy Management online program.
"These agreements capitalize on the commonalities between our institutions and provide a smoother transition for students who want to enroll in the BAS program and eventually pursue supervisory and management positions in the energy industry," said Bruce Emmil, associate vice president, National Energy Center of Excellence.
In December, BSC established an articulation agreement with Cascadia Community College in Bothell. Graduates of their AAS degreed Environmental Technologies and Sustainable Practices - Technology Emphasis program would feed directly into the BAS program.
Another agreement with Bellingham Technical College was established in the fall. Graduates of four energy related AAS degreed programs would be eligible to enroll in the BAS program.
The program continues to attract students, with enrollment increasing from 120 students last fall to 160 students enrolled for spring semester, said Tammy Heupel, coordinator of the BAS program.
Growth is expected to continue by working with industry and former AAS graduates, other initiatives, and through agreements with other educational entities, said Emmil. |
