Power System Operations I - AC Generation and Synchronization - 5 CEH    Register Today
This course is specifically designed for NERC certified System Operators, Reliability Coordinators, and other personnel who are required to obtain NERC CEH Simulation training hours each year.

This course is Section I in a series of two courses designed to use NECE simulation to explore power system operation concepts relating to AC generation and synchronization.

Each unit in this course covers the specific training items listed below:

Unit 1 – AC Power utilizing an AC Generation Simulator and Active Power Loss Calculator
Upon completion of the AC Power unit students shall be able to successfully:
· Describe what three items are required for electromagnetic induction and power generation to take place.
· Describe mutual induction and how it relates to transformer operation.
· Describe the losses found on transmission lines and the factors that lead to those losses.

Unit 2 – Synchronization utilizing the SynchLab Simulator and Girder 911 Incident Interactive Learning Tool
Upon completion of this Unit students shall be able to successfully:
· Determine running and incoming as related to synchronization.
· Define the three main adjustable parameters required to successfully synchronize and close a circuit breaker.
· Review communication practices for synchronization.
Emergency Operations Section 1 - Operating Emergencies and Standards - 12 CEH    Register Today
This course is specifically designed for NERC certified System Operators, Reliability Coordinators, and other personnel who are required to obtain NERC CEH Emergency Operations training hours each year.

This course is Section I in a series of three courses designed to cover the NERC recommended topics for system operator emergency training. As the power system grows and new demands are placed on aging equipment, unique situations will arise which challenge system operations. This course examines these challenges, as well as looks at the causes and lessons learned from past power system emergencies.

The emphasis of this course is on operating emergencies and the NERC Standards pertaining to emergency operation and system control.

Each module in this course covers the specific training items listed below:
Module 1 - Blackouts - Causes and Lessons Learned
Module 2 - NERC Emergency Standards Review
